№ 01 · Our story

We came for the waves.

“We stayed for the people”

Palmilla began with one newcomer finding peace in Baja, and the locals who made room for him. It has grown into a way for anyone, anywhere, to meet the people who make a place what it is.

01

“The ocean gave me quiet. The people gave me a place.”

№ 02 · Finding peace

I came to Baja for the ocean. What I found was a place where I could breathe.

Mornings in the water, afternoons with people who had grown up beside it. The ocean gave me quiet. The community gave me somewhere to belong.

№ 03 · Their stories

Every person who shared their water with me had a story worth hearing.

Surfers, photographers, fishermen, guides, teachers. Their knowledge of this coast took a lifetime to earn, and they offered it freely. That generosity is a gift, and Palmilla exists to honor it.

03

“Hours that should have gone to guests, to family, to the water.”

№ 04 · Hard work, quiet minds

They work harder than anyone I know, with a calm I have never found anywhere else.

Yet the tools built for the rest of the world had passed them by. Bookings, payments, messages, marketing: hours of admin that should have gone to guests, to family, to the water. Technology could carry that weight for them. Nobody had built it.

№ 05 · The spirit of surfing

Surfing taught me that you are a guest in someone else's water. Palmilla is built on that.

Every connection here starts with respect for the place and the people who know it. Guests arrive understanding whose water they are entering, and hosts are met with the trust and appreciation their stories deserve.

05

“Not a service. A door into someone's world.”

№ 06 · More than a lesson

Palmilla is not about paying someone for a service. It is about sharing your craft, your gift, with others… with the world.

Before a session, guests learn how things are done here and a little Spanish to greet their host. They watch the short films of the people they are about to meet. What they take home is not just a skill. It is a wider horizon, and a connection that lasts.

№ 07 · A note from the founder

The ocean was the reason I came. The people who shared it are the reason I stayed.

Palmilla, Baja

№ 08 · Mission & vision

We're here to help local workers earn a better living, and to bring the people who live in a place and the people who visit closer together.

Our mission

Palmilla connects local workers with customers and pays them within the hour, to their own bank. The people who make Baja what it is work harder than anyone, and too many of them earn too little. Every booking on Palmilla is a step toward closing that gap.

Our vision

Every town, every craft, paid fairly.

We start with surf lessons, photography and fitness in Baja. Next come chefs, captains, guides and every kind of local work, in every town where locals deserve a better living.

№ 09 · The spirit

A booking on Palmilla is not a transaction. It's a connection.

01

Someone shares their gift with you.

Every provider carries a lifetime of knowledge. We get to know each one before they're listed and tell their story, so you know who is sharing it with you.

02

You receive it.

Before your session, we teach you how things are done here, out of respect for the locals and the ocean. You arrive as a guest in someone's water.

03

It helps both your lives.

Your booking helps them make a living, paid the same day to their own bank. You leave with something that stays with you long after the session.

We're building a platform people can trust to share this spirit, so we can all live in harmony together.

№ 10 · What we believe

The values we paddle out on.

Five beliefs shape every offering, every booking and every payout on Palmilla: the standard for how locals and newcomers meet here.

№ 01

Community first

People matter more than transactions. Every booking should create a relationship, not just a payment.

№ 02

Local empowerment

The people who know a place best should benefit most from its growth.

№ 03

Respect for culture

We celebrate the history, traditions and people that make each place unique, starting with Baja.

№ 04

Ocean connection

The ocean teaches humility, patience and respect. We bring those values into everything we do, on the water and off it.

№ 05

Belonging

Whether you've lived here fifty years or arrived yesterday, there is a place for you.

The throughline

Bigger than surfing. Bigger than Baja.

The same story carries chefs, captains, fishing guides, wellness teachers and every other local craft, in every place with people worth meeting: a community, not a marketplace.

№ 11 · Where this goes

We start in Baja. We don't stop there.

Baja is home and it is where we learn. But every coast has locals with a lifetime of knowledge and no time for admin, and every traveler wants to meet them. Palmilla is built to grow to any town and any craft.
