De las olas de Puerto Escondido a Los Cabos: surfearndo para abrir caminos e inspirar nuevas generaciones de mujeres
№ 01 · About me
“The ocean gives you space to leave everything behind with every wave and simply be who you are”
I grew up in a fishing community in Puerto Escondido, where my connection with the Ocean began long before I started surfing. My dad was a fisherman and the sea has always been part of my family's story.
Growing up surfing in Puerto Escondido, I learned to be very protective of my place in the lineup. But after moving to Los Cabos, my perspective began to change. I learned that being part of a lineup also means sharing the waves, building community, and helping others. I became more aware that we all start from somewhere and that we all deserve the opportunity to enjoy the ocean. Through this journey, I began to understand my dad's values more deeply: generosity, kindness, and the importance of making space for others.
And that is why the ocean holds such a special place in my life. It is where I feel my dad closest. Sometimes I like to dedicate waves to him. Being in the ocean is also a way to talk to him in my own way and tell him about the things happening in my life. It is my way of keeping that connection alive. For me, the ocean is home, a connection to my roots, and a place where I can always feel him close.
